The Montana Relief Commission coordinated welfare programs and disbursment of federal relief funds to county organization. Records (1934-1935) consist of annual reports by the State Examiner; a list of members of county relief committees; and interoffice correspondence, financial records, and reports (1935-1936) pertaining to disbursments of federal earthquake emergency funds for Helena; and an office manual describing social welfare laws and Social Welfare Department policies and procedures.
